Tackling Loneliness: A Community Action Plan

Loneliness has become a public health crisis, affecting as many as 9 million adults in the UK. Being lonely can increase risk of an early death by as much as 50%. GPs see millions of lonely and socially isolated patients in their surgeries each year.

That's why the RCGP is launching a loneliness action plan. We need to make sure that our calls are heard loud and clear by those at the top of government as they work on a new loneliness strategy. With your help we can harness the unique position of GPs to tackle loneliness.
