Fund general practice, transform the NHS

Despite being at the frontline of the NHS general practice in Wales is significantly underfunded, receiving just 7.3% of the Welsh NHS budget. This is the lowest percentage of NHS budget spent on general practice anywhere in the UK.

GPs tell us that they are concerned about the impact that underinvestment is having on them and their patients, with 72% of GPs in Wales expecting working in general practice to get worse in the next 5 years. We believe that doctors and patients deserve better.

We have laid out our vision for general practice in our new report, 'Transforming general practice: Building a profession fit for the future'. In order to achieve this vision, we need your help to make sure that the Welsh Government commit 11% of NHS funding to general practice.
