Tell the Secretary of State to fund GP Training

We need you to write to the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care to tell them that general practice deserves fair funding to train students.

GPs are not being given funding that meets the cost of what it takes to train an undergraduate student in practice. In fact, they receive 40% less than their secondary care equivalents. Yet, recruitment to primary care is a national crisis.

GPs do a fantastic job caring for their patients and training the future workforce in the face of strained resources and rising workload. Their resilience and ability to ‘make do’ is not a sustainable solution to funding that does not meet their costs, or the level of funding their secondary care equivalents receive.

Sign up to our postcard campaign today to make sure that undergraduate training in general practice is funded properly.
